The Penn State men's team has completed preparations for the USA 7's CRC tournament which begins tomorrow, and players and staff agree that all is left to do is perform.
The team arrived in Philadelphia on Wednesday in high spirits following a month of hard work which saw them practicing twice a day (three if you include their work in weightroom every other day as well) and competing in two 7s tournaments leading up to the big event.
Once in Philly, scrimmages against Notre Dame Wednesday afternoon and Army Thursday morning, evening film sessions, and a final team training session today has the entire group feeling that we are ready.
The commitment shown by the athletes, who have been finished with school since they began their quest in the beginning of May, has been nothing short of inspirational. That coupled with the hard work and dedication of the staff (Head Coach Chris Amoratis, Assistant Coach Peter Steinberg, Assistant Coach Don Ferrell, Trainer extraordinaire Sumie Ichizaki, and Manager Jay Mathias) has the team ready and rearing to go.
PSU is an pool A with Life University, Wisconsin, and Temple. The Temple match, scheduled for a 3:20pm kickoff, will be shown live on NBC Sports Network!
