The USA woman’s national team is about to embark on their 2014 RWC and playing alongside a few Penn State Alums are current woman’s rugby players Hope Rogers ’15 and Meya Bizer ’15. Coming off its third consecutive national title the Penn State Woman’s team is sending two upcoming seniors to join coach Pete Steinberg, and former Penn State stars Sadie Anderson, Deven Owsiany, and Kate Daly to Paris to try and bring home a world championship. Rogers out of Chambersburg PA is listed as a prop for the US and can look forward to gaining so invaluable lessons from veteran Jamie Burke in the front row. While Bizer from the Woodlands TX is a do it all back, mainly playing fullback and in the centers. At the young age of 21, Hope and Meya are forces to be reckoned with at both the domestic and international level after being selected to the starting XV for their first match vs Ireland. With this experience boost, the future of both Penn State woman’s rugby and the US is in very good hands thanks to these two superb talents.
