The Penn State Women (6-2-1) (4-0 Big Ten) traveled to Westchester University this Saturday for a friendly match against the Golden Rams and walked away with a 72-5 victory.

Freshmen scrumhalf Ellie Fromstein started the scoring early with a quick pick off the breakdown and a dive over the line. The lead was quickly evened when Westchester smartly intercepted a pass and ran in for the try, both would go unconverted and the score would remain at 5-5 for next few minutes.  Penn State proceeded to score 67 unanswered points through the remainder of the game with tries from Heavner, Cantorna, Berta, Garnett, Solomon and an excellent push over try by the forwards.

Coach Daley was very complimentary of Senior Outside Center and Wing, Corinne Heavner. “Corinne is very committed to improving wherever we put her on the field, her attacking support lines from outside center today were very effective and have improved every game.  Overall  our backs did a great job of aggressively attacking the line and converting breaks into tries while our forwards did good work around the breakdown creating fast ball.

Penn State is on the road again next weekend for their final Big 10 games vs Ohio State and University of Michigan on Saturday before taking on DI Elite opponent Lindenwood on Sunday in Columbus, Ohio.
