The Penn State Women have almost 40 players that come to school early for their preseason camp.  The camp has involved training, fitness assessments and fundraising.  This year the men’s and women’s teams installed bedlofts to make money for the program.

“This has been a great preseason,” said Head Coach Pete Steinberg.  “We have a great freshman class and they have stepped up already.  They have all played all-star level rugby in high school, and all of them have been to one of our summer camps so they already know our drills.  Two Indiana freshman, center Lauren Barber and flanker Kelsey Corbett have really stood out so far.”

The preseason camp prepares the team for the season, but also prepares the team to play the Alumni this weekend.  The Alumni always offer a tough opponent for the team, but it is a great way to start the season.
