Last weekend both men and women’s Penn State Rugby teams hosted a parent and recruiting weekend. In my opinion, it was a huge success!
The parents of Penn State Rugby players were invited to a brunch, which many of the current players also attended. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet families and get to know more about each other as players. It was also a great opportunity for the parents to get to know each other as well. After the brunch, the parents came to support us in the game against University of Delaware. It was great to have so much support! Overall, the parents’ weekend was a success! We, the players, consider ourselves more of a family than just a team, which is why it was so exciting to get to meet everyone’s families
Perspective Penn State rugby players arrived on Friday and were able to watch our team go through a run-through, which is how we prepare for a game. They also joined us for our team dinner following the run-through. This gave them the opportunity to meet most of the current players and see us all interact together. Our team always love new players and meeting all the possible new players was very exciting! On Saturday the recruits had an informational meeting with Pete, Sadie, myself and some other current players. It seemed that most of the recruits had a good time learning about Penn State Rugby! After the meeting the recruits went on a your of campus, which ended at West Pitch so they could watch our game. We are excited about these recruits and hope to see many of them next Fall!
