Hey everyone!

This trip has been amazing so far. We’ve been having two a day practices, that focus more on the mental aspect on the game instead of physically draining ourselves to have an intense physical practice. The heat and humidity are through the roof. We’ve been practicing mid morning and late afternoon to try and avoid a lot of the harsh sun, but it is still in the upper 90’s.

We’ve played two games so far, the first against the Cayman Island’s Senior Women’s team and our second against a Caribbean Select team. We won the first game 85 to 0 and I was honored with my first cap, starting as the loosehead prop! Our second game was on Tuesday, which we also won 30 to 7, although it was a much uglier game.

Yesterday we had a free day and FINALLY got to go into the water. We went snorkeling out along another one of the islands, and then came back and shopped in the Straw Market, a huge tented and packed space full of crafts and knock offs that are all “on a special sale for you gorgeous.” We had two practices today, which were short and very intense, to get us prepared to play the Canadian U20 team tomorrow.

Our whole trip comes down to tomorrow. Everything we’ve done and worked through gets put into action tomorrow. Everything I have and everything I have learned from my time here and my time at Penn State will be left on the field tomorrow. I’ve been thinking of all of you everyday, and I know you are working just as hard preparing for our fall season. I even brought along my little gray wolf from Nationals and all of the letters and notes from the playoff run.

Our last Jersey Ceremony is in about an hour and then tomorrow is the day. Good luck against the alumni, play your hearts out and show them that even though they have left the team is still thriving. See you all soon!!

Love,
Kelly
