The PSU Developmental sides traveled to Washington DC this past weekend to take on Georgetown University.

The B side opened the day against a highly motivated and intense GU A side, and fell just short of a dramatic win in the final moments of the match when a apparent PSU try was disallowed by the referee. The young B side had several more opportunities from the ensuing 5 meter scrum, but were unable to capitalize, as the final whistle brought the highly entertaining match to a close. Although disappointed in the outcome, and the number of turnovers in contact, the coaching staff did some some bright moments. Freshman outside center Blaze Feury, and Freshman winger Dominick DeFalco were singled out as the men of the match. In all 9 true freshmen were in the starting lineup, a fact that bodes well for the future.

The second match of the day saw a determined and scrappy PSU C side take the pitch determined to get things back on track, and that is exactly what they did. With some exciting play both individually, and as a team, they were able to dominate most of the play and possession and come away with a well deserved victory.

We would like to thank Georgetown for the match, and wish them the best of luck with their upcoming season. Judging from what we saw from them this weekend, it should be a very good year for them.
